Ritual Observations
Walk the same road every day
Details start to melt away
It looks like not a single moment passed.
“Ritual Observations (Observations Rituelles)” is a photography project I’ve done in the second half of 2024 for the Focale Association Members' Workshop, which had the theme “The Perimeter” - an exploration of photographers’ close surroundings.
Project description
Over a period of three months, I took the same short walk multiple times, all within 500m of my home. I chose six points during the walk which I photographed from the same position every time. The resulting grid contains 15 repetitions of the walk, one per line. Within each line, the photos are shown in chronological order, and each line was taken after the previous one.
